Information for
The University of Nevada, Reno offers a generous range of scholarships and tuition reduction programs for domestic first-year and transfer students from outside Nevada and the WICHE region who are pursuing their first bachelor’s degree.
Eligible students from WICHE regions can save between $10,500 and $15,000 per year with the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) or Pack Exchange Program (PEP). Eligible students from non-WICHE states can can stack up to three scholarships — The Tahoe Award, The Dean’s Pack Award, and The Honors Award — for up to $12,000 per year.
For maximum financial aid and scholarship consideration, students must have a completed admissions application, transcripts, test scores (ACT/SAT), FAFSA/Institutional Methodology form, and a general scholarship application (MyNEVADA) on file by February 15th.

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)
Save up to $15,000 per year for four years. WUE awards academically qualified students with a reduced non-tuition rate. See if you qualify.
Pack Exchange Program (PEP)
Don't qualify for WUE? You can still save up to $10,500 if you meet PEP reduced tuition requirements.
National Merit Scholarship
The National Merit is the University's most prestigious scholarship for entering freshmen who are National Merit Finalists and meet eligibility criteria.
Presidential Level Scholarship
Eligible students from WICHE states may also qualify for the Presidential Level Scholarship ($8,000/year) if they meet GPA and test score requirements.
WUE and PEP are stackable with the Presidential Level Scholarship or the National Merit Scholarship.
The Presidential Level Scholarship and National Merit Scholarship may not be combined.
Excludes WICHE and Nevada
Domestic freshman and transfer undergraduate students from the following states may be eligible for a non-resident stackable scholarship: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Tahoe Award ($5,000/year)
Open to non-WICHE residents who meet geographical, enrollment and academic qualifications.
Dean’s Pack Award ($5,000/year)
Open to students who meet all requirements for the Tahoe Award.
Honors Award ($2,000)
Available to students who meet requirements for Tahoe Award and apply to and attend the University as part of the Honors College.
Scholarship information is for the 2026-2027 academic year. Additional conditions apply and are subject to change.
