A local nonprofit, Fresh Eddy Futures, is helping aspiring winemakers achieve their career goals by offering scholarships to students studying viticulture. Founded by passionate wine enthusiast Lynn Fraschetti, the organization aims to foster the next generation of winemakers by easing financial burdens. One of the recipients, Daniela Lopez Torres, is studying at Fresno State University and expressed how the scholarship has brought her closer to realizing her dream of working in the winemaking industry. “It was a huge financial burden lifted off my shoulders and my parents’ shoulders. I was super, super grateful,” said Torres.

To continue funding these scholarships, Fraschetti organizes the annual Passion for Pinot festival, which celebrates the love of Pinot Noir. The event, which will be held at the Westin Rancho Mirage from January 30th to February 2nd, is a key fundraiser for Fresh Eddy Futures. During the festival, the organization will announce the next round of scholarship recipients, further advancing its mission to support those with a passion for winemaking.

As the nonprofit continues to grow, Fraschetti remains committed to changing the way wine is enjoyed and helping students like Torres build successful careers in the industry. Cheers to the future of winemaking!
