NORMAL — The Normal Rotary Club recently awarded scholarships to eight local students during a reception on April 30. 
Each student was honored with a $1,000 scholarship, seven customary and one agriculture education scholarship of equal value to a student in the ag field, to support their academic journey beyond high school, according to a news release from the rotary club.
The recipients are as follows:
High school seniors who demonstrate a dedication to service, citizenship and leadership were invited to apply for the scholarship. Finalists were selected from a competitive pool for an in-person interview conducted by the Normal Rotary Club scholarship committee. The recipients were then chosen from the interview candidates, according to the news release.
