SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Caddo Sheriff Jay Long awarded an academic scholarship to Analyce Jeane Friday morning (May 31) during a presentation at Government Plaza.
Jeane is a graduating senior at North Caddo High School, where she earned a 4.89 grade point average. She will use the $1,000 scholarship to pursue a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, according to the sheriff’s office.
Jeane was selected to receive Caddo’s scholarship based on her academic achievement, leadership, and character. While at North Caddo, she founded the Bridge to Success internship program, served as a four-year student council member, was a member of the National Honor Society, and also held the position of senior class treasurer.
In addition, Jeane founded the Project 7 Christian Club for North Caddo High, participated in the Talented Arts Theater Program, Beta Club, and Red Jackets Ambassadors, and served as the yearbook editor. Jeane was also involved in the Educators Rising Club, Environmental Club, Million Words Club, Teen Pact Governmental Training, and was named Caddo Parish High School Student of the Year.
Sheriff’s scholarships are made possible by the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program (LSHMP). Louisiana sheriffs provide scholarships to graduating high school students from each parish where the sheriff is an affiliate of the program.
