BREAKING NEWS: One Dead In Early Morning Crash On Point Lookout Road In Leonardtown
WALDORF, Md. — The Class of 2025 at North Point High School’s Academy of Health Professions celebrated a milestone achievement during its annual pinning ceremony, marking the completion of a rigorous program designed to launch students into health care careers.
This year’s graduates earned certification as licensed nursing assistants and received additional credentials in basic life support, first aid and OSHA safety standards.
All graduating seniors in the program have been accepted into the college of their choice to continue their studies in the medical field.
In a record-setting accomplishment, the class received a combined total of $9,674,727 in scholarship awards — the highest in the program’s history.
The Academy of Health Professions is a specialized career and technical education program offered through Charles County Public Schools that prepares students for postsecondary education and employment in health care.
The pinning ceremony, a tradition in many health care education programs, symbolizes the students’ formal entry into the nursing and health care profession.
