DANVERS, MA — Forty students from 22 high schools across Essex County were recipients of $67,000 in Topsfield Fair scholarships through the Essex Agricultural Society.
Thirty-three students earned $1,000 scholarships and seven students earned $1,000 scholarships for each of their four years of college.
“We are proud to be able to contribute this much toward the rising cost of education,” Topsfield Fair General Manager James O’Brien said. “These scholarships don’t include thousands in additional financial assistance distributed by several of our departments, including beekeeping, rabbits, sportsmen building, and many others.”

This year’s total aid were scholarships from the Essex County Farm Bureau Association, the Essex County Fruit Growers Association, and the Charles E. Larner Family Foundation. Charles E. Larner Family Foundation.
“This year’s scholarship applicants once again came from students who are very involved in their communities and many who have volunteered at the Topsfield Fair over the years,” O’Brien said.
Scholarship applications for students graduating in 2025 are expected to be available on Jan. 1, 2025 at here.
