Northern students earn thousands in provincial trades scholarships – Northern Ontario Business

Ten Northern Ontario students are among the recipients of thousands of dollars in scholarships supporting their education in the trades.
Cambrian College announced Sept. 30 that 10 of its students received scholarships from The Schulich Foundation worth between $20,000 and $40,000, which cover tuition, tools, and living expenses.
“We are proud to support students in the skilled trades and open doors to this meaningful career path,” Judy Schulich, director of The Schulich Foundation, said in a news release.
“Behind every home built and every community strengthened are the tradespeople who make it possible. Today, the shortage of these skilled workers is holding Canada back, and that’s why investing in young people who choose this path is one of the most impactful ways we can build a stronger, more prosperous country for all.”
The Schulich Builders Scholarships for Skilled Trades is one of the largest scholarship programs in Canada, annually awarding 10 scholarships to students at each participating Ontario college.
Cambrian College is the only college in Northern Ontario that participates in the Schulich Builders Scholarships program.
