(Rising Sun, Ind.) – Rising Sun High School senior Hannah Kremer has been named the recipient of the 2025 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship for Ohio County.
Lilly Scholars are known for their community involvement, academic achievement, character, and leadership.
“Hannah’s application for the Lilly Endowment Scholarship was definitely impressive. Her interview, GPA, community service, leadership roles, extra-curricular activities and work experience were key factors in the Scholarship Committee’s decision,” said Jane Angst, Executive Director of the Ohio County Community Foundation.
Each Lilly Scholarship provides for full tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and equipment for four years. The scholarship is for full-time undergraduate students leading to a baccalaureate degree at any eligible Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university.
“Receiving this scholarship will help my parents with the cost of college, especially since my sister also currently attends college. I am planning to study the field of Dermatology so that I can one day help others as I was helped as a child.,” said Hannah Kremer, Lilly Endowment Community Scholar, during her interview with the OCCF Scholarship Selection Committee.
In determining Ohio County’s Lilly Endowment Community Scholar nominees, consideration was given to academics, extra-curricular activities and community service by the Ohio County Community Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee.
“This year we had a great pool of applicants from which to select our Lilly Scholar. Congratulations to our four semi-finalists Natalie Fisk, Kaitlyn Henry, Kassidy Lewis and Paige Werner. The committee had five outstanding students to choose from. Best of luck to each of you!” said Jane Angst, Executive Director of the Ohio County Community Foundation.
The grant was recommended by DCF Board member Bridget Davidson.
The incident took place on Sunday.
Elementary, middle and high schools from across the country competed.
There will be plenty to do throughout December.
The forecast calls for sunny skies and a high of 42.
