HUNTINGTON, NY — Friends of Oheka announced its Otto Kahn scholarship winners.
Six talented high school seniors from the Town of Huntington will receive $3,000 each and will perform or have their work shown at this year’s annual gala from 5 to 8 p.m. May 15 at Oheka Castle in Huntington. The event will go on rain or shine.
The following students are pursuing their love of the arts as they begin their college education this fall:
Tickets to the gala are available online and are selling for roughly $167. Tickets include hors d’Oeuvres, a buffet dinner, wine, dessert and entertainment.
“We’ll also have fabulous raffle baskets and our traditional Gatsby-style attire is always welcome,” Friends of Oheka wrote.
Bill Bohn was also announced as this year’s posthumous humanitarian honoree. He was a “beloved” Friends of Oheka board member who was also involved in several other Huntington community organizations, according to Friends of Oheka.
To date, Friends of Oheka has raised almost $300K for high school seniors who are pursuing a college education in the arts. Friends of Oheka, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection, preservation and public awareness of Oheka Castle, a “monument to a bygone era and a testament to Huntington’s commitment to historic preservation.”
