The Oklahoma Scholarship Competition is now open for registration, allowing high school students across the state the chance to earn money for college.
More than $770,000 in cash scholarships and tuition grants are available.
Through the Oklahoma Scholarship Competition, students in grades 9 through 12 test their knowledge on Oklahoma history, geography and its people. The competition consists of a one-hour, online exam administered in March. Students compete in the county in which they attend high school, and top scorers are awarded either a cash scholarship or tuition grant to an accredited Oklahoma college or university. In 2024, 92 students received scholarships.
“Empowering the next generation of leaders is at the heart of our mission,” said Gini Moore Campbell, vice president at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. “Through the Oklahoma Scholarship Competition, we provide financial support that opens doors to higher education for Oklahoma’s high school students, in both rural and urban areas. The program helps ensure that young people have the resources they need to continue their education in Oklahoma and make a difference in our state.”
Interested students must pre-register on the Oklahoma Hall of Fame website before Friday, February 28, 2025. A full list of requirements and available scholarships can be found online.
Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the Scholarship Awards Assembly on Wednesday, April 23 at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum. More information about the Oklahoma Scholarship Competition can be found online at OklahomaHOF.com under the Scholarships & Awards section. Questions should be directed to Gini Moore Campbell at 405.523.3202 or gmc@oklahomahof.com.
