Ontario Holstein is once again putting up $8,000 in scholarships for post-secondary students.
Despite Ontario Holstein doling out the money, young experts and aficionados of any of Ontario’s six major breeds can apply. Eight scholarships, worth $1,000 each, will be given out to applicants primarily based on their agriculture background, but also taking into account their 4-H or Junior Farmer involvement, their activity in their community and their future goals.
The deadline to apply is June 15. Applications are available at www.ontario.holstein.ca/youth/scholarships.
Students must have completed their first year at either a university or college and be enrolled for next year. They can also have finished their fourth year, as long as they’re enrolled in a master’s program.
They must also be a member of a dairy breed association, or have a parent who is, and have their completed application signed by an officer of an Ontario Dairy Breed club.
