The Ontario Remembrance Scholarship is funded by the provincial government in memory of the 57 Canadians killed when a Ukrainian passenger airliner flying from Tehran to Kyiv was shot down by the Iranian military in January 2020. Many victims of the crash were students or faculty members at Canadian universities and colleges scholarships will be allocated in honor of each of the 34 victims to the institutions to which they belonged.
