OSHKOSH – The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation recently awarded almost $1 million worth of scholarships to more than 300 high school and college students from Winnebago, Green Lake and Waushara counties, and the city of Ripon.
OACF made the announcement in a news release after doling out $978,714 to 305 students, awarding academic excellence, leadership and community involvement.
“This generosity has made a significant impact on my life, so I hope to pay it forward in the future by supporting aspiring students like me,” said Neenah High School student Marie Dums, who received multiple awards.
The awards range from $500 to $29,000 and include one-time and renewable awards for one to four years.
According to the release, the foundation stewards more than 250 scholarship funds established by individuals, families, organizations and area businesses.
OACF also administers scholarship programs for public and private schools in Oshkosh, Green Lake, Neenah, Omro, Princeton, Ripon, Wautoma and Winneconne.
“Scholarships change lives,” said Director of Education at OACF Cheryl Fowler. “We couldn’t be more honored to connect our donors’ generosity to the hopes and dreams of young people in our community.”
