League City Masonic Lodge on April 28 held its Mirabeau B. Lamar Award and Scholarships banquet dinner, honoring three outstanding students in the Clear Creek Independent School District. The students’ selection was made by school counselors from each school who have been helpful in sharing scholarship information, requirements, the application process, review and selection criteria with the students.
The high school students receiving scholarship awards were: Vivi Nguyen, Clear Falls; and Kala Kimbrough and Sara Dean, Clear Creek. As their names were called, the students, surrounded by their families and loved ones, were escorted to receive their scholarship awards.
The 2025 Honesty and Integrity Award recipients were Kaden Calderon and Julianna Major, Clear Falls High School; Mitchell Elisor and Kaylynn Nash, Clear Creek High School; and Dylan Haver and Kynlee Schmidt, Clear Springs High School.
The Grand Lodge of Texas established the Mirabeau B. Lamar Award and Scholarship to emphasize its support for public education and to recognize and reward students who aspire to pursue higher education, thereby helping to strengthen their communities.
The Masonic Fraternity and its associated bodies, including the Scottish Rite and Shrine, collectively contribute significant funding to non-profit organizations, such as the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston, which treats children who have suffered severe burns at no cost to their families.
