WADENA — The Wadena-Deer Creek high school held its annual Senior Awards and Scholarship Night at the Wadena Memorial Auditorium on Wednesday, May 14. Scholarships were given by local businesses, civic organizations, alumni and in memory of loved ones. Over $100,000 was given out to WDC seniors, for a total 116 awards, with 36 seniors receiving individual awards.
“We were able to give away over $100,000 from local organizations, businesses, and in memorial scholarships,” said Toni Kraska, Wadena-Deer Creek counselor, who added the total does not include scholarships or awards that the students are receiving directly from the schools they will be attending.
