P.E.O. awards fall scholarships to Wynne, Cross County graduates – Wynne Progress

CROSS COUNTY — Chapter AY of P.E.O. recently presented their annual scholarships for the fall 2025 semester.
The recipient from Wynne High School was Sarah McLendon with the scholarship for Cross County High School going to Mali Wallis.
McLendon graduated second in her class at Wynne High School and was very active in cheerleading, golf, track and field, and was in the honor society and other clubs. McLendon is currently majoring in biology at the University of Arkansas. She plans to continue her education in medicine with a desire to specialize in orthopedic surgery.
Wallis, meanwhile, is currently studying to become a veterinarian at Oklahoma State University. While at Cross County High School, she was involved in beauty pageants and was a cheerleader.
P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization supporting the advancement of education for women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and the stewardship of Cottey College.
