Pacific Ridge School will host an Opportunity Scholarship Alumni Panel and cocktail reception at the Rancho Santa Fe residence of trustee Heather Steinmeier and her husband, Rich, on Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Since its inception in 2011, the Opportunity Scholarship program has been pivotal to the school’s mission of fostering a diverse, inclusive community and enriching the educational experience for all students, according to a news release.
The scholarship program, funded entirely through private philanthropy, provides full tuition and related expenses to first-generation college-bound students who demonstrate academic excellence, a strong desire to contribute to campus life, a commitment to their success, and qualified financial need.
Twenty-one Opportunity Scholars have graduated from Pacific Ridge so far, attending prestigious institutions such as Emory University, Kenyon College, Northwestern University, Princeton University, Rice University, and Stanford University.
