The Iowa Farm Bureau (IFB) Federation has announced over $1 million in scholarships for more than 100 Iowa high school and college students, including a Panorama High School senior. Arilyan Steenblock, the daughter of Ryan and Arianne Steenblock of Panora, is to receive an annual $2,500 scholarship, renewable for up to four years, to attend Creighton University. Recipients are chosen based on Farm Bureau membership, academic achievement, financial need, community and extracurricular involvement, and the applicant’s demonstrated commitment to rural Iowa. IFB Community Resources Manager Ronnette Vondrak says, “We recognize the ability of our youth to shape the future of agriculture and rural Iowa. These scholarships are one way we support students who are passionate about making a difference—whether it’s through farming, research, ag business, community service, leadership, or upcoming innovations. When one in five Iowa jobs is tied to agriculture, helping students pursue their goals means we’re also helping our rural communities grow stronger.” Of the 100+ scholarships awarded, 27 of them are going to first-time recipients, and 76 are IFBF scholarship renewals.
