WASHINGTON D.C. — This week, in Washington, D.C., Park City Mayor Nann Worel highlighted the city’s Child Care Scholarship Program at the Child Care Hill Day, an event hosted by the national advocacy group Moms First. Worel represented Park City alongside business leaders from UPS, Toyota Mazda and Adecco Group to discuss how public-private partnerships can strengthen workforce participation and drive economic growth.
Worel emphasized Park City’s collaborative approach with Summit County, positioning the Child Care Scholarship Program as a local example of innovation. “Our partnership demonstrates that when local government and private industry work together, we can create solutions that support families and strengthen our workforce,” Worel said.
During the event, Worel and Park City Resident Advocate Michelle Downard met with Rep. Blake Moore and Ryan Leavitt, Park City’s federal advocate. The meeting underscored Park City’s continued efforts to maintain a strong presence in federal discussions on child care policy.
The city described the recognition as a proud moment, calling Park City “a model for local innovation in childcare policy.”
The Child Care Hill Day convened leaders from both the public and private sectors to explore strategies addressing child care affordability and accessibility, themes central to Park City’s approach.
