– The Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance Foundation has awarded $18,000 in scholarships to 12 graduating seniors from Paso Robles High School, Templeton High School and Atascadero High School.
The scholarships were made possible through proceeds from the Paso Robles Wine Country Virtual Auction. Over the past four years, the foundation has awarded 55 scholarships totaling $118,000 to students in the region.
Each student selected demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and a commitment to their educational goals. The evaluation process considered grade point average, extracurricular involvement, personal essays, letters of recommendation and unique personal circumstances.
“As a small business owner and a parent, it’s especially meaningful to help local students take the next step in their education,” said Michelle Thacher, board member of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance and owner of Thacher Winery. “These scholarships are one way the Paso wine community gives back, and it’s an investment to north county families and the future of our region.”
Four scholarship recipients from the Class of 2025 have shared stories about how the awards are helping them pursue higher education. Student testimonials and additional information are available on the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance website.
The next Paso Robles Wine Country Virtual Auction will take place Sept. 15–20 during California Wine Month. Auction packages will feature wines, experiences and hospitality from Paso Robles Wine Country, with proceeds benefiting scholarships and charitable initiatives.
Packages include an evening at Justin Vineyards & Winery with dinner at its Michelin-starred restaurant, custom-designed sneakers by Sneaker Mechanic, a “Taste of Italy in Paso” with the Dusi family, and a vineyard supper with Serial Wines. Additional lots will be announced before the event.

The Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance.
