COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — WACH FOX and The Jeffcoat Law Firm have teamed up to spotlight everyday heroes in our community who are making a difference.
This week's "Pay It Forward" program winner is Roy Brasley, a celebrity hairstylist who founded the Brasley Foundation in 2009 to honor his late grandmother and help more people.
NOMINATE
Brasley graduated from Eau Claire High School in Columbia, SC, and has continued to serve his local community ever since.
He was nominated by his friend Barbara Jones, who helped us surprise him with the $500 cash award at our station.
The Brasley Foundation is deeply committed to helping people in the Columbia, South Carolina area by partnering with neighborhood organizations and leveraging available resources.

The foundation directly helps those in greatest need by providing food, clothing, and educational scholarships, while working to address critical issues facing our community — such as homelessness, food insecurity, and lack of access to education.
Brasley received the Key to the City of Columbia from then-Mayor Steve Benjamin in 2022.
After receiving the $500 cash, he said he plans to use it to start another scholarship program in honor of his late friend, Angie Stone.
