PEABODY — ConvenientMD Urgent Care recently awarded a $2,500 scholarship to a Peabody Veterans Memorial High School Class of 2024 graduate Angel Gonzalez.
The company, which operates urgent care centers around New England, awarded 10 of these $2,500 scholarships to high school seniors in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine this year who plan to study in the healthcare field, according to a statement from ConvenientMD.
More than 800 students applied for this year’s round of scholarships, the statement said.
“Our Social Impact Committee was impressed to see Angel’s commitment to academic success, while also finding time to engage and excel in extracurriculars,” ConvenientMD Community Partnerships Manager Morgan Faustino said in the statement.
Angel was awarded the scholarship at ConvenientMD’s location next to the Northshore Mall.
He plans to attend Regis College in the fall to study nursing.
