PEABODY, MA — A Peabody student who attends UMass-Lowell was awarded the annual Barbara Iannoni Scholarship through the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Sydney O’Donnell students was among 48 students honored statewide at the MassCPAs’ Connect 2025 event earlier this month.
“The passion and expertise of this year’s scholarship recipients is truly inspiring,” said Zach Donah, CAE, president and CEO of MassCPAs. “Their dedication to the accounting profession reassures us that the future of our industry in Massachusetts is in good hands. We’re proud to support their academic journeys and contribute to their success.”
Scholarships are funded 100 percent through donations to the MassCPAs Educational Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to inspire and support the next generation of CPAs in Massachusetts, and since the program’s inception in 2006, the Foundation has awarded over 450 scholarships to aspiring CPAs, ranging from $1,000-$10,000 and totaling more than $2,080,000.
Scholarships are available for both undergraduate and graduate accounting students, as well as graduating high school seniors, who are attending a college or university in Massachusetts or attending a college or university out-of-state with a permanent residence in Massachusetts.
Scholarship funds are issued directly to the students and can be used for tuition, books, interviewing expenses or other needs.
“At MassCPAs, our goal is to foster a robust and talented accounting workforce,” said Allie Orlando, director of Academic and Career Development. “These scholarships break down financial barriers, offering deserving students the opportunity to succeed.”
