Pegram United Methodist Church recently recognized three 2024 recipients of the Debbie Glore Memorial Scholarship and celebrated student accomplishments at a special luncheon following the worship service.
Harpeth High School graduate Victoria “Tori” Femino, Nolensville High School graduate Lucas Pring and University of Alabama sophomore Elizabeth “Lizzie” Erin Bagsby each received a scholarship from the church.
The PUMC scholarship fund has presented freshman and sophomore college scholarships since its establishment in 1984. That’s when a Sunday school class formally established the fund to help PUMC youth with their college expenses. When beloved church member and gifted career educator Debbie Glore died from cancer in 2002, the fund was renamed as a memorial to her.
Femino, who graduated with honors, plans to attend the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She received the First Year Debbie Glore Memorial Scholarship and plans to major in kinesiology for a career as a sports medicine physician or an orthopedic surgeon.
Lucas Pring also received the First Year Debbie Glore Memorial Scholarship. He plans to pursue a degree in marketing at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, where he has been accepted into the Chancellor’s Honors College and Haslam School of Business.
Bagsby received the Second Year Debbie Glore Memorial Scholarship and is working on her degree in civil engineering.
Members of the youth Sunday school class who were moving into Harpeth Middle School were also recognized and honored during the service and luncheon.
