Each year, Illinois Freemasons give tens of millions of dollars to people in need and non-profit organizations, and the very active Peru Masonic lodge is offering another chance for you to help others this weekend.
St. John’s Lodge Number 13 in Peru will hold its annual Labor Day Weekend charity breakfast Saturday morning. It’ll happen from 8 to 11 a.m. in the 5th Street parking lot behind Debo Ace Hardware. Jump-start your holiday weekend with biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, hash browns, and a beverage. The net proceeds from the annual Labor Day cookout will go to the Peru lodge’s scholarship fund.
St. John’s Lodge has been operating since 1842, and meeting at the same location above Debo Ace Hardware since 1896. If you’d like to enjoy what looks to be a beautiful day for a cookout, and get to know more about the Freemasons, the event runs from 8 to 11 Saturday morning.
