Two Victoria high school students are set to receive $16,000 scholarships from the Phillips 66 Dependent Scholarship Program, according to a Wednesday news release. This program is open to college-bound students whose parents work for Phillips 66.
St. Joseph High School student John Ward, son of Phillips 66 employee John Ward, and Victoria West High School student Taha Harris, son of Phillips 66 employee Muhammad Harris, are the scholarship recipients.
βWe congratulate John and Taha on their exceptional academic achievements and dedication to community service. Education is a core focus area for Phillips 66, and we are proud to support these promising young students in the next chapter of their academic journey,β said Courtney Meadows, Phillips 66 manager of social impact.
Fifty-six high school seniors across the country will be receiving scholarships from the company. These scholarships are based on academic excellence, community service, and financial need.
Since the start of the program in 2013, Phillips 66 has awarded $8.5 million in scholarships to 649 students.
