SHARON, Pa. (EYT) – In efforts to fulfill the need for skilled healthcare providers and to invest in the future of healthcare, Primary Health Network Charitable Foundation (PHNCF) has awarded $30,000 in healthcare scholarships to 10 inspiring individuals.
The PHN Charitable Foundation Healthcare Scholarship Program is designed to create pathways for students pursuing a career in healthcare or allied health fields, ensuring that health centers continue to provide the highest quality of care in our local communities. Students who applied for the program are either college-bound or currently enrolled at a public college, private college, or vocational school.
PHNCF, established in 2005, supports the mission and goals of Primary Health Network (PHN), Pennsylvania’s largest community health center. The foundation raises funds to build and sustain programs, such as scholarships, which increase access to healthcare services and improve the health and quality of life in the communities it serves.
In addition to being either college-bound or currently enrolled at a public college, private college, or vocational school, scholarship applicants must live in a county where PHN serves, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and submit an essay that explains how they would apply their education, goals, and ideals with PHN and PHNCF.
“It is with full gratitude that we honor the selected students with their academic awards,” stated Cheryl Goldstone, Foundation Director. “It is because of their tireless dedication to helping others and commitment to community, demonstrated by the individuals’ compassion and vision along with their academic achievements, that we can continue the legacy of creating a stronger, healthier community for all.”
