In a surprise for participants, the TSTC Foundation awarded a $2,000 scholarship to each of the three first-place competitors, with the three runners-up getting $500 each.
TSTC’s stable of mills and lathes gets a workout Thursday during the school’s inaugural Machine Shop Mania event, which also served as an opportunity to register new students. Second- and third-semester students had 45 minutes to complete their aluminum projects under the watchful eyes of judges and instructors.
