A finance officer at Polk State College has raised new questions about the administration’s use of scholarship money to cover student fees.
Joanie Malone, Polk State’s chief financial officer for foundation and alumni, provided a detailed summary of the process in a document obtained by The Ledger. The memo indicates that Polk State President Angela Garcia Falconetti was deeply involved in the requests and suggests that the students who benefited were chosen specifically to improve the college’s enrollment figures.
