Pool Scouts, a Chattanooga pool service company, has teamed up with the Hope Floats Foundation in the month of May for water safety month.
The Hope Floats Foundation is a nonprofit that partners with swim schools across the country, including here in Chattanooga, to provide scholarships for swimming lessons for children living in poverty.
Hope Floats partners with businesses to raise the money, and this month, Pool Scouts will donate money from every one of its services.
Drowning is the number one cause of accidental death for children one to four years old, according to the CDC.
However, the National Institutes of Health found that participation in formal swimming lessons reduces the risk of drowning by 88%.
Since 2021, Pool Scouts has raised $82,000 for Hope Floats, and this year, they are setting a $20,000 fundraising goal to push total donations over the $100,000 mark.
You are also able to donate to the Hope Floats Foundation directly through its website, or through Pool scouts website.
This partnership will running for the whole month of May.
