The Pottsville Lions Club awarded nine $500 scholarships to students from both Pottsville Area High School and Nativity BVM.
The Pottsville Lions Club, along with the Schuylkill Community Foundation, has setup a scholarship fund to support area students for years to come. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding students going into the medical profession or into the automotive field. Students can apply for the scholarships with Schuylkill Community Foundation each year.
The recipients from Pottsville High School were Keirra Jones, Madison Hennich, Lauren Goodman, Kailey Olenick, Lauren Kelly, Gavin Woodward and Julie Szeliga.
Miranda Burkot and Matthew Wojiechowsky were the recipients from Nativity BVM.
