Public policy-minded high school students encouraged to apply for $10k Senate Youth Scholarship – KFYR-TV
BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – High school juniors and seniors interested in public policy now have the opportunity of a lifetime.
Applications for the U.S. Senate Youth Program are available.
Every year, each state selects two high school students who will receive a $10,000 scholarship and participate in “Washington Week” in March. This event will feature prominent political speakers and journalists.
Applicants are chosen according to their leadership qualities and must have served in an elected or appointed student office during the entire school year.
“There isn’t one type of student. It is not always the number one student in the class, but the delegates are always very committed and very engaged in the groups where they serve,” said Jennifer Odell, the administrator of the program application.
