McKenzie Thummel, Kate Smith, Faith Jacobs, Leilani McIntyre, Jackson Shahan and Allyson Roberts each received a $2,000 scholarship from the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Posse.
The Rockwall County Sheriff’s Posse last week announced the recipients of its 2025 scholarships – awarding six local students who have participated in 4-H, FFA or other agricultural programs and plan to continue supporting the industry.
The scholarship recipients are McKenzie Thummel, Kate Smith, Faith Jacobs, Leilani McIntyre, Jackson Shahan and Allyson Roberts. Each student received a $2,000 scholarship to be used at an accredited college, technical institute, trade or vocational school. In addition, Cavender’s of Rockwall provided each recipient with a $100 gift card.
“It was a difficult decision for our scholarship committee to narrow down to just six recipients when we know all of the young people in agricultural programs are incredibly hardworking and dedicated,” said RCSP Commander Chris Knox. “We enjoyed meeting our 2025 recipients as well as their supportive families and learning about their future plans. Rockwall County has a rich agricultural history and we could not be more proud to support these students and know they will continue to give back to our community.”
