During the Cinco De Mayo celebration Saturday afternoon, 27 Emporia High School seniors were awarded $500 scholarships to guide them on the pursuit towards higher education.
This year’s cohort was the largest award group since the event’s inception. 20 students will attend Emporia State University in the Fall, 2 students will attend Flint Hills Technical College, and 5 students will attend universities in Kansas. ESU and FHTC matched every scholarship for their incoming students, raising each scholarship to $1,000.
