The Douglas County Republican Women announced seven Douglas High School seniors received $1,000 scholarships.
Each student submitted an essay describing why they thought they should be a scholarship beneficiary. A team of Republican Women led by Brenda Robertson, read all the essays and then interviewed the students on campus before making the final selection.
At an awards ceremony, the winners were announced, and each club-foundation presented the student with their grant.
