Grants and Resources for Sustainability
Deadline: 02-Oct-2025
The Port Coquitlam Community Foundation is inviting applications for its Community Grant Program to support innovative projects that serve the citizens of Port Coquitlam.
The focus areas include youth, seniors, homelessness, health and wellness, arts and culture, and organized sports. The granting goals are to have a direct and meaningful impact on a significant number of people, when possible, involve community partnerships and maximize and leverage PoCo Community Foundation’s investments, strive to fund innovative programs or services, ensure objectives for each grant are met and the final report is received, endeavour to have each funded project or program align with the vision, mission and values, recognize and value diversity, equity and inclusion within the community, and respond to the changing nature of the community by listening to community organizations in order to identify areas of high priority as they arise.
Each year, the foundation provides grants based on the availability of funds and how well projects align with the guidelines. The program accepts applications twice a year, with the Spring intake from February 1 to March 15 and the Fall intake from August 21 to October 2. Applications can be submitted online or orally. Each grant offers up to $5,000 in funding.
Eligible organizations must serve the residents of Port Coquitlam and may include charities or BC registered non-profits with a signed Intermediary Agreement. The program funds organizations of any size and supports projects that may be start-up initiatives, operating programs, capital projects, or salaries as part of an overall project. Operating funds may also be considered in urgent situations with a sustainability plan in place.
The program does not fund individuals, projects outside Port Coquitlam, organizations that discriminate, religious or sectarian organizations unless the project benefits the broader community, advertising for benefit purposes, annual fundraising campaigns, debt retirement, retroactive funding, or endowment funds.
