CHARLOTTE – Charlotte resident Sybil Richardson has received a Hollar Scholarship from Lutheran Services Carolinas.
She is one of 10 LSC teammates in the Carolinas earning a total of $22,340 to further their education during the 2025-26 academic year.
Richardson is a program manager at LSC’s Raynor Street Apartments, a supportive living community for adults with severe and persistent mental illness located in Durham. She has been with LSC since 2016 and is studying toward a bachelor’s degree in human services at Gardner-Webb University.
“I am passionate about the work I do and firmly believe in LSC’s mission and values,” Richardson said. “My goal is to become an even more effective advocate and resource for the individuals and communities we serve.”
The nonprofit operates 11 senior living communities in North Carolina and seven refugee resettlement offices across the Carolinas, as well as adult day programs and group homes, foster care and adoption services, mental health and recovery services, and disaster response services.
The Hollar Scholarship was established by Bryce Hollar in 2011 in memory of his wife, the late Margie Hefner Hollar, and as a tribute to her caregivers at Lutheran Home–Hickory, now called Trinity Village.
“LSC is committed to lifelong learning and growth,” added LSC President and CEO Ted W. Goins, Jr. “We are thrilled that our scholarship recipients are growing to better themselves and our organization.”
