The Rockbridge Retired Teachers Association (RRTA) will meet at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, at Manly Memorial Baptist Church for its annual Scholarship Fund Bazaar.
Members will also remember and honor educators who died this past year in a memorial candlelight service.
A boxed lunch of oven-roasted turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, and apple pie will be served at a cost of $14 per person. Members are asked to check their email to RSVP by Nov. 29 and for more details about the meeting location.
“Please bring a fellow educational retiree to enjoy some time together and raise money for the scholarship fund,” said a spokeswoman.
For the fundraiser, members are asked to bring homemade baked goods, cookies, pies, cakes, rolls, jams, pickles, etc., or homemade crafts such as floral arrangements, wreaths, table decorations, plants, knitted items, quilts, wooden crafts, etc. They should label each item with a suggested price. Cash donations are also welcomed. All money raised will benefit scholarships for two local graduates majoring in education.
