PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Foundation will make $4 million in scholarships available to Ocean State students.
These scholarships can be used to cover tuition, fees and books.
The Robert G. and Joyce Andrew Scholarship Fund assisted nearly 90 students attend college in 2023, according to the Rhode Island Foundation.
Dozens of other individual and organizational donors have also contributed to helping students achieve their goals.
“This is life-changing. Now I can make full use of all the great learning opportunities at college with no delays or issues,” said Blessed Adeoye, a Roger Williams University student and recipient of an Andrew scholarship.
“The support not only enables me to pursue a career in engineering; it inspires me to grow into someone who will contribute greatly to my community in the future. I feel empowered to wholeheartedly pursue my dreams,”
There are hundreds of scholarships available through the Rhode Island Foundation, ranging from general assistance to major-based programs such as nursing, filmmaking and the arts.
The Rhode Island Foundation also offers scholarships for Rhode Island residents who attend trade and technical schools through the David L. Taton Family Vocational/Technical Scholarship Fund.
