RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Two Richland School District Two students have been named 2024 National Merit Scholarship winners.
Over 1.3 million high school juniors in about 21,000 high schools entered the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship
Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which served as an initial screen of program entrants, says Richland Two officials.
Blythewood High School senior, Eva Deanne Pendleton and Spring Valley High School senior, Ava J. Phelps will each receive a $2,500 scholarship.
The scholars were selected by a committee of college admissions officers and high school counselors.
Pendleton is planning to pursue a career in surgical medicine and Phelps is planning a career in natural science.
