Students from eight local high schools received scholarships.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) – The Rising Sun Regional Foundation is pleased to announce the award of $52,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors who reside in Ohio and Ripley counties and the cities of Aurora and Batesville, the Foundation’s Southeastern Indiana grant-making region.
Recipients of the 2025 Rising Sun Regional Foundation Scholarships are as follows:
Batesville High School – Lucy Abplnalp, Alex Baumer, Kaylynn Bedel, John Dirkhising, Ayden Eckstein, Sophia Gesell, Gwyneth Haakinson, Cade Kaiser, Alyson Peters, Kailey Schaeffer, Carson Schneider, Carlee Steinkamp, Georgia Voegele, Keegan Walke, Wyatt Weiler
East Central High School – A.J. Beard, Adrienne Mitchell, Maddie Plogsted
Jac-Cen-Del High School – Kelsey Borgman, McKenna Davis, Delaney Hughes, Hailey Kunz
Milan High School – Audrianne Blomer, Kendall Budd, Stacy Davidson, Lucas Drew, Anna Herzog, Markiesha Lillard, Kaylee Peterson, Kalli Smith, Kaleb Wilburn
Oldenburg Academy – Zachary Hoff, Christian Mack, Annabelle Nunlist
Rising Sun High School – Josie Brawner, Colton Brooks, Kennedy Carrigan, Natalie Fisk, Makenzie Harlow, Hillary Lambert, Kassidy Lewis, Tamryn Miller
South Dearborn High School – Libby Bimrose, Sophie Ferguson, Lakota Vincent
South Ripley High School – Anna Block, Alexa Franklin, Jackson McAdams, Leah Shepard, Trenton Smith, Macy Stone, Kaitlyn Tingle, Angela Tunny, Blaine Ward 
All graduating seniors who reside in Ohio and Ripley counties and the cities of Aurora and Batesville who maintained a six-semester grade point average of 2.75 or higher and plan to attend a post-secondary educational institution were eligible to apply for these scholarship awards. Awardees of these scholarships were drawn at random from the pool of eligible applicants that were submitted to the Rising Sun Regional Foundation along with official transcripts.
The Rising Sun Regional Foundation is funded by the Rising Star Casino Resort, owned by Full House Resorts, Inc., which makes monthly contributions to the Foundation based on a percentage of its Adjusted Gross Revenue.

The freeze is for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years.
