MADISON, Ala. (WAFF) – The Rocket City Trash Pandas are pitching in to give local high school seniors a leg up when paying for college.
Four local seniors are now getting $2,000 to help further their education.
Sprocket made a surprise visit to each of the student’s schools to present them with the award. That money can now be used to help pay for trade school, community college, or a 4-year-program.
Madison Kendrick, the Director of Community Relations for the Trash Pandas, said the is a great way to get support students.
“It’s a great feeling,” she said. “It means a lot to us that we get out in the community. We’ve had a lot of support over the last few years and we need to show that support as well.”
Over 200 students applied for the award this year, and program leaders say they expect even more next year.
