Rockford Promise Scholarship applications open for local high school seniors – WREX

ROCKFORD, Ill. — A scholarship that allows Rockford students to attend college tuition-free just opened its applications.
The Rockford Promise Scholarship opened its applications for local graduating high school seniors on Wednesday, Oct. 1. The scholarship gives Rockford students a tuition-free experience at Rockford University, Rock Valley College, St. Anthony College of Nursing, or Northern Illinois University.
Rockford Promise scholars also benefit from the Scholar Support program, which is said to encourage them to finish their degrees.
In the spring of 2025, Rockford Promise awarded scholarships to 204 Rockford high school seniors. The organization is currently supporting 520 students pursuing their degrees across four college campuses.
Applications are open from Oct. 1, 2025, to Feb. 5, 2026, at 5 p.m. local time.
According to the Rockford Promise website, offer letters will be sent 4 to 6 weeks after the deadline.
