J.H. Rose High School graduate Melanie Breonna Thompson is among 38 recipients of the Park Scholarship award at North Carolina State University.
The Park Scholars Program, which this year announced its 30th class, recognizes students for scholarship, leadership, service and character. Each scholarship covers four years and is valued at about $122,000 for in-state students and $229,000 for out-of-state students.
