The Roselle Park District Garden Club is offering up to two $1,000 scholarships for the 2025-26 school year to graduating high school seniors and current college students pursuing environmentally-related degrees.
Applicants must be residents of the village of Roselle and plan to attend or are attending a two- or four-year college.
Eligible fields of study include earth science, ecology, environmental science, horticulture, landscape design/architecture, botany and related disciplines.
To apply, students must submit an application packet by March 14 that includes high school transcripts or current college grades, one letter of recommendation, and a 500-word essay describing their future plans as it relates to the scholarship. Late submissions will not be considered.
Applications can be downloaded from the Roselle Park District website at www.rparks.org/rpd-garden-club or picked up at the Clauss Recreation Center, 555 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. in Roselle. For more details, email Pat Rummelhart at Prummelhart@ameritech.net.
The Roselle Park District Garden Club welcomes new members and meets on the first Thursday of every month, September through June, at the Roselle Park District building. Membership is open to anyone 18 or older, regardless of residency. Meetings cover gardening topics, environmental issues and more.
