The Roselle Park District Garden Club will be awarding up to two $1,000 scholarships for the 2025-26 school year.
Interested graduating high school seniors and current college students who wish to apply for this scholarship should complete and return the application packet no later than March 14, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.
The application can be downloaded from the Roselle Park District website under Garden Club, www.rparks.org/rpd-garden-club. Applications are also available for pickup at the Clauss Recreation Center, 555 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. in Roselle.
The scholarship applicant must be pursuing an environmentally related degree (such as earth science, ecology, environmental science, horticulture, landscape design/architecture, botany, etc.)
The applicant must comply with all the following criteria: resident of the village of Roselle, plan to attend or are attending a two-or four-year college, provide copies of high school transcripts or current college grades, provide one letter of recommendation from a teacher, volunteer coordinator, or community leader.
They must complete all the information requested in the application packet and submit a typed, 500-word essay describing future plans as it relates to this scholarship. For details, email Pat Rummelhart at Prummelhart@ameritech.net.
The club welcomes new members. It meets at on the first Thursday of every month, September through June, at the Roselle Park District, 10 N. Roselle Road. Membership is open to anyone 18 or older. You need not live in Roselle to join. These monthly gatherings cover a wide range of gardening related topics from gardening, environmental issues, trees and more.
