Rotary scholarships have been awarded to 25 high school seniors from Minot and the area from the Minot Rotary Scholarship Foundation Fund.
The Minot Rotary announced at the conclusion of its scholarship award luncheon that the Minot Area Community Foundation (MACF), in celebration of its 25th anniversary, committed $25,000 to match the $25,000 already awarded by the Rotary Foundation. As a result, each student who was awarded a $1,000 scholarship will receive $2,000, bringing the total awarded this year to $50,000 in support of local youth pursuing higher education.
The Rotary Scholarship Foundation Fund was established by the Rotary Club of Minot 40 years ago. The goal of the fund is to provide scholarships to area youth through a permanent endowment fund held at the MACF. Scholarship applications are scored based upon participation in school activities, involvement in community service and charitable organizations, employment history and academic achievements.
