The Rotary Club of Marysville, Ohio has announced the awarding of four one thousand dollar “Lynne Whatley Memorial Service Above Scholarships” to Marysville High School Seniors Ariyannah Kitchen and Paige Mobley and Fairbanks High School Seniors Grace Zahn and Hannah Sullivan.
The scholarships are presented annually to students who exhibit exemplary service leadership in school and the community that emulate the core values of the late Lynne Whatley.
Ms. Kitchen participated in a wide range of service activities including Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Benefit in The Barn, Adopt-A-Senior Program, Teeny Tears, and The Avalon Theater. Among her school accomplishments, she was a member of The National Honor Society, a Section Leader of the Marching Band, and a member of the Show Choir. She will be attending The University of North Florida in the fall and majoring in Psychology.
Ms. Mobley has been a member and officer of the National Honor Society, The National Technical Honor Society, A Leo Club member, The Marysville DECA Program, a three-year wrestling letterman, a United Way volunteer, and more. She will be going to Grand Valley State University in the fall.
Ms. Sullivan was an active volunteer with Blessings in a Backpack, and a member of the Union County Junior Fair Board. She also did a major volunteer blanket project for Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an active member of her FFA Chapter. She will be attending Wright State University and majoring in Nursing.
Ms. Zahn’s volunteer experience has included teaching of Sunday School, doing service projects through her Interact Club, being an Honor Flight for Veterans volunteer, coaching year-round youth basketball and youth summer soccer camps. In school, she has been Student Council President, Captain of both the soccer and basketball varsity teams and a member of The National Honor Society. She plans to study pre-med with a goal of becoming an Obstetrician-Gynecologist.
