The Rotary Club of Blythewood presented its annual scholarships to high school seniors in the 29016 zip code area on Thursday. Each year the Rotary Club of Blythewood offers multiple scholarships to graduating seniors in memory of Rotarians from the club who have passed away in prior years as a way of remembering their contributions to the Blythewood Community and continuing their legacy.
The students exemplify the Rotary motto, “service above self” and the selection committee was so impressed with this year’s finalists that it approved and increased the number of recipients receiving $2,000 scholarships this year from five to eight.
Earning the scholarships and pictured above left to right are Blythewood High School students Madison Berry, Zavier Washington, Anna Sparrow, Elizabeth Bozard, Drayden Young, Madison Powell and Bryce Crews. Aniya Wilson was unable to attend the presentation and is not pictured.
