Jared Hickson, a DeQueen, Arkansas native and former Southern Arkansas University (SAU) graduate, has been named the 2025 recipient of the Joey Baker Endowed Scholarship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy.
This scholarship is awarded each year to a UAMS College of Pharmacy student who previously completed their undergraduate studies at SAU.
Jared earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from SAU in 2023 and was selected for this honor based on his outstanding academic performance at UAMS. He is actively involved as a College of Pharmacy Student Ambassador, a member of the UAMS Alumni Council, and Legislative Coordinator for NCPA.
In addition to this award, Joey Baker has also endowed a scholarship for graduates of Emerson High School who attend Southern Arkansas University.
